Meet the Authors
As with both my counterparts, I was born and bred in the plains of Amarillo, Texas. I was raised by Taylor and Anette Carlisle, with two older brothers, Walker and Darwin. My father works at the Amarillo Diagnostic Clinic as one of three infectious disease doctors in the city. As a school board member and longtime supporter of education enhancement, my mother has led a career promoting higher learning in public schools after postponing any jobs to raise three children. My oldest brother, Walker, and his wife, Audrey, live in Texas and are currently looking for careers in chemical engineering and real estate, respectively. Last, my second brother Darwin lives in Los Angeles working his way up the ladder of Hollywood filmmaker popularity. As for myself, I attended Tascosa High School, class of ‘08, and am now enrolled in Rochester Institute of Technology’s film production program. Growing up, I participated in eleven years of community theatre at Amarillo Little Theater and loved every minute of it. It’s been my dream to make films since I was eight years old, although there have been slight difficulties over the path. I’ve now attempted two separate full-feature films and both fell through due to improper planning and poor enthusiasm. I was saved on January 24th, 2007, alongside my longtime friend and near-brother Stephen Leonard, baptized by close friend and co-author Sam Smeaton. This revelation came about through attending church camp at El Porvenir the summer after my sophomore year in high school. Very little has been the same since then, and most of it positive. Although my family does not share in my beliefs, they have been nothing but supportive the entire way. My mother bought me a faith-promoting book the night of my baptism, my father gave me a Bible for the first Christmas after, and both attended the event of the baptism itself. I am an incredibly confusing individual, going by the assertions of family and friends, and to a large degree, myself. Public school never served me as anything besides a social event. Very little of my personality makes perfect sense, but what does, I will not hesitate to fight for and defend. Raised as an atheist and converting to following Christ, I have an intimate understanding of several arguments, and therefore I have been endowed with the best of both worlds. My personal philosophy is that the beliefs that we are willing to die for are truly those which are worth living for. Followers or nonbelievers alike, I hope you will give me any questions you have. I am always glad to help further one’s understanding of God.
I graduated proudly from Tascosa High School (Go Rebels) in Amarillo Texas. I am the son of a small buisiness owning father, and a math whiz mother (she’s rather smart, too). I have always been a Christ-Following guy, and I plan to stay that way. As a long-time supporter of conservative-libertarian values, I believe that modern liberalism is a malignant cancer. But don’t worry, I’ve found the cure. I fill my time with football, singing (I’m pretty good) studying, reading, solving the world’s problems, and spending long hours with my friends. I believe that philosophy, history, science, and logic all present compelling cases for faith in a real and loving God, and that we as followers have no right to be complacent or silent about it. Also, I perform vocals for a rock band and sing in the vocal jazz group at Amarillo College. After gaining my Associates Degree in History and Government Education from Amarillo College, I will complete the next level of that academic pursuit at a West Texas A&M University. Thats all the important stuff. I’ll be around.
I was born and raised in Amarillo, Texas and have lived there all my life until this past August when I moved to Joplin, Missouri to attend Ozark Christian College. Although I may not look like it I am your generic, stereotypical Texas country boy with horses, sheep, trucks and tractors, however I take no particular interest in any of these except for trucks. I graduated from Randall High School in 2008 where I was on the Cross-Country and Track teams for all of my years there. I was also a part of the National Honors Society and a staff member and editor for the yearbook. My father has worked for Xcel Energy as a Journeyman/Lineman for 24 years and my mother is a stay at home mom who homeschools my sister. She also keeps 3 young children so as to have a little extra money. When I am at home the first place you should look for me is at Hasting’s considering the fact that I practically live at work. If I am not there then just look for a 1956 Chevy Pickup and you will probably find me close by. I spend most of my time when I am not at work hanging out with my friends and coming up with the next insane thing to do. I enjoy sports, especially football and basketball. Music is also a big part of my life even though my personal musical skills might make you shiver in fear. I am studying at OCC to be a Youth Minister and to be prepared to face whatever may come my way in life. Any thing else that you may want to know will hopefully come through in my future writings. If there is some random question that you want answered about my life or person feel free to send me an email and ask.
